This fantastic villa is located in a convenient position for the most interesting destinations in Western Sicily.
There is an amazing view of the Egadi Archipelago, which can easily be reached by hydrofoil, or by renting a boat from one of the harbours in Trapani or Marsala. And on the Islands of the Lagoon, with its Stagnone Nature Reserve, you’ll have the chance to see magnificent sunsets in a unique landscape of salt flats and windmills.
The town of Marsala is only 10 minutes drive and you’ll find plenty of shops, restaurants and wineries there, as well as historical buildings.
The archaeological sites of Erice and Segesta, old Greek (Elymian) towns are within easy reach.
Trapani is also very close with its busy old town centre, where you’ll find many bars and shops.
We also recommend visiting Castellammare del Golfo and Scopello in the Zingaro Nature Reserve, which can easily be reached by car in about an hour, and the long sandy beach of San Vito Lo Capo.
For lovers of archaeology, the two most important sites in Sicily are just a few kilometres away, the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento and the largest archaeological park of Europe, Selinunte Acropolis. The superb unspoilt island of Mothia is just in front of the house, in the middle of the Lagoon, and can easily be reached by ferry from the Marsala Saltpans.
Alternatively, it is possible to get to the island on foot by following the ancient Punic road. The road is very striking because it is often covered by the sea and gives the impression of walking on water. It can be only crossed at low tide of course!
Finally, for a day trip to a busy city of culture, which is great for sightseeing and full of shops, you can also reach Palermo in about an hour and a half.
