Description
This stunning luxury villa is surrounded by olive groves in the spectacular Sicilian countryside. It offers a peaceful holiday retreat with the advantages that everything is within easy reach. The amazing beach and the small village of Marinella di Selinunte are only 1km away.
Inside
This villa has been furnished in an opulent Sicilian style whilst maintaining all the modern comforts you would expect. A large central living/dining room with an impressive feature fireplace dominates the house. This room is overlooked by a gallery staircase which is ornate in design an adds a wonderful open aspect to this villa. A cozy snug with views of the garden where you can relax and watch TV provides you with an excuse to escape the midday sun. The kitchen in this property is typically Sicilian in design and is decorated with magnificent blue and white Sicilian tiles.
The feature balustrade staircase leads up to the first floor where you will find two beautiful double bedrooms one of which has a balcony overlooking the pool and gardens. These rooms are separated by a cozy mezzanine complete with sofas. A large bathroom with shower service these rooms.
This property features a separate annexe which is only a few steps away from the main house. It’s traditional Sicilian tiled roof contrasts splendidly with the modern windows which frame the living/kitchen areas to achieve an almost picture effect through the window. A large luminous double and a twin bedroom, both of which have clean lines, are on the ground floor and a modern bathroom with shower with completes this elegant aspect of this villa.
Outside
The gardens of the villa are particularly attractive with well-tended lawns. Palm trees, Mediterranean shrubs and flower beds connect the main house to the annexe. Two charming wooden pergolas covered in traditional Sicilian roof tiles look out over the pool and gardens. The comfortable outdoor furniture complete with soft furnishings and the stunning decked pool area complete with stone wall and waterfall effect makes this a truly spectacular property for your holiday to Sicily.

The Area
Selinunte Retreat is located in a convenient position to visit the many attractions of western Sicily.
The lovely, small town of Marinella di Selinunte with its beautiful golden beaches is only 1 km away and it is the perfect place for travellers looking for a not too crowded seaside holiday.
A 15-minute drive brings you to Castelvetrano, a medieval town with many shops and restaurants also serving typical local products such as the Black Bread of Castelvetrano made from the now rare “tumminia” wheat flour or the high quality extra virgin olive oil, cold-pressed from the fruit of the extensive olive groves covering this area and the Belice valley.
Europe’s largest archeological park, the Selinunte Acropolis, is just a few minutes’ drive. The temples can also be seen from the beaches in Marinella di Selinunte in, what is, a unique and evocative landscape.
Mazara del Vallo, with its casbah – the old arab quarter – and the charming city center full of shops and restaurants where you can savor an authentic couscous, is a great example of integration between different cultures.
The Valley of Temples in Agrigento is about an hour’s drive by car.
Furthermore, for stunning views in a wonderful setting we suggest a trip to the Salt Pans between Trapani and Marsala and the Islands of the Lagoon with the early-Phoenician settlement on Mozia.
After the Salt Pans a trip to the Egadi Island is well worth it, especially for those who love diving and snorkelling.
Not to be missed, the ancient Elymian city of Segesta with its very well preserved Doric-style Temple and open ,hill-side theatre, but also the remarkable medieval town of Erice, it too of Elymian origin, that hosts the “Ettore Majorana Foundation and International Centre for Scientific Culture” bringing together every year scientists from all over the world. Both cities are about an hour’s drive from the villa. About 30 km away you wlll find the lovely town of Sciacca with its beautiful beaches, fine craft pottery, and famous, carnival-week festival.

A quiet location with lovely gardens and all the facilities
Two kitchens and a barbecue, four different outdoor areas where you can sit, extensive gardens and a private pool. The hosts are delightful and on hand if needed. Selinunte has a lovely beach, plenty of restaurants and one good shop with a produce counter.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this property, and it was an experience worth sharing! The check-in process was seamless. The host provided clear instructions, and his meeting at the property made it super convenient. The property was immaculately clean, welcoming, and it exceeded expectations. The charming décor created a cozy atmosphere. The kitchen was fully equipped with needed appliances to prepare meals. A standout feature was the private pool, perfect for a refreshing swim, with poolside loungers and a shaded seating area for relaxation. The outdoor space, including the patio and garden, was beautifully landscaped, ideal for morning coffee and family meals. Thoughtful details like the welcome basket made me feel pampered. Situated in a quiet neighborhood, it was peaceful yet close to local attractions, shops, restaurants, and the water, all within a short walk or drive. The host was fantastic – responsive, friendly, and attentive. They were always available to answer any questions. I can't recommend this property highly enough. Whether you're looking for a relaxing retreat or a convenient base for exploring the area, this property is ideal. I left feeling refreshed and will definitely return. Thank you for a memorable stay!

Had a wonderful week at Selinunte Retreat.The villa and it’s garden were beautiful, very private and had everything we needed for a family holiday with 7 of us ( age 20-64) Select Sicily were professional and quick to respond to queries.

Super Selinunte Retreat
We stayed at Selinunte Retreat which was beautiful, spacious and relaxing with all the facilities you need for the whole family.
We were well looked after by the owner and agent. Aldo spent effort on our behalf to find a hotel for the day so we could relax in comfort for the day waiting for a late flight and arranged our transfer too.
Select Sicily have also been great with excellent and responsive communication

We booked the SELINUNTE Retreat on very short notice in September. Aldo from selectsicily.com was super fast in answering an very helpful all the time. Very friendly contact with great hints for day trips, restaurants etc.
The SELINUNTE retreat was such a quiet an beautiful place for the family. Perfect pool and outdoor area. The small town and beaches perfect for relaxing and eating good Italian food.

Selinunte Retreat exceeded all expectations!
Selinunte Retreat exceeded all expectations. A beautiful property in a tranquil settings. Photos don’t do the property full justice. So carefully looked after by owners. Really is a retreat to soak in Sicily. Walking distance of restaurants and easy reach of beautiful beach. We would love to return.

Great peaceful oasis near the coast
We were a group of six, staying at this wonderful place for a week. We were warmly welcomed by the owner and his family. The property is secluded from everything and even more beautiful than in pictures. The house is tastefully renovated, fully equipped and the pool offered us a nice refreshing moments. Everything was smooth. The memories of Sicily and escpecially of this property will keep us warm for a long time. Thank you for hosting us.

We really enjoyed our stay at Selinunte Retreat!
The whole experience with Select Sicily was brilliant- from the booking,directions, assistance from Aldo, welcome hamper, lovely owner, to the villa itself. The villa is geared for outdoor living with beautiful gardens, lovely pool and ample furniture. Internally, everything was very clean, comfortable beds and well-equipped kitchens.
Although the town, Marinella di Selinunte isn't particularly charming, it has everything one needs - supermarkets, bakeries, butcher, greengrocer, restaurants, ATMs etc and a beach. The archaeological site (5 minutes drive from the house) on the other hand, is spectacular! Especially at sunset.
We really enjoyed our stay at Selinunte Retreat and would definitely recommend Select Sicily.
