Description

A delightful place surrounded by the beautiful countryside of South-Eastern Sicily. This is Casa Luce, a spacious and elegant all-on-one floor house, suitable for families or groups. It can accommodate up to 8 people in 4 ensuite double bedrooms, all finely decorated.
With its fantastic position, Casa Luce boasts a magnificent panoramic pool with never-tiring views of the horizon and the blue of the sea.

Inside

Conceived by following the idea of an old farmhouse, the building was designed not to “offend” the surrounding landscape, as the owner claims, and we can definitely say, she and her architect were cleverly successful in this intent. Thanks to the typical elements of local country houses such as tiles and patios covered with reeds, the house perfectly fits in the Sicilian landscape.
French doors in all rooms connect the interior with the outside terraces of the property providing a very nice natural light to the house.
At the entrance, we find an inviting and well-decorated living space with a large comfortable sofa and a fireplace. A perfectly balanced mix of typical Sicilian elements, with some vintage and contemporary design details, tastefully furnishes all the interiors.
Next to the living room, we find the dining area with a modern table and seats for eight. The large and modern kitchen with a central island is really comfortable and fully equipped.
The sleeping area is accessed from the terrace and it offers four bedrooms, all ensuite with modern walk-in showers. Each of the bedrooms has direct access to the outdoor through glass doors.

Outside

The outside areas of this property reflect the initial idea of the owner being characterized by the presence of typical elements of the Sicilian countryside, dry stones, olive trees, ancient oil jars and typical Mediterranean vegetation. Around the house we find a covered patio furnished with tables and chairs to enjoy al fresco dining and a small relax area.
In front of the house a few steps before the pool area, the main terrace with large outdoor sofas and chairs.
A short walk towards the beautiful view of the sea and the horizon takes you to the modern, magnificent swimming pool (25x4m) surrounded by green lawns and olive trees, all equipped with comfortable sun loungers with modern design.
A dream location that will make you totally forget the routine, which will be hard to say goodbye.

The Area

Casa Luce is the ideal starting point to explore the wonders of late-Baroque Sicily, starting from Scicli, in the Province of Ragusa, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site, along with seven other cities in South-Eastern Sicily. The old town of Scicli is a jewel of Baroque architecture. Among its streets you will find Neoclassical palaces, Baroque churches, boutiques and restaurants. Scicli has also become known for being the setting of the popular TV series “Inspector Montalbano”.
The itinerary can continue through other sites awarded by UNESCO. Another unmissable stop, 10 km from Scicli, is Modica, a network of beautiful alleys and staircases perched on the mountain, all to be covered on foot to discover the wonderful late-Baroque buildings of the town. In Modica you will taste excellent chocolate, produced according to an ancient recipe, and it will be really difficult to choose among the many flavors available!
Noto, an hour’s drive away, is called the “Capital of the Baroque” and has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site since 2002. Let yourself be fascinated by the extraordinary architecture of palaces and churches, a blaze of elegance, style and harmony.
Also worth a visit Caltagirone, well known for its craft pottery production.
Not to mention the wonderful natural scenery of the beaches in the area, such as Playa Grande, a resort with sandy and golden beaches, clear sea and Mediterranean scrub and Calamosche, in the Vendicari Nature Reserve. The house of Inspector Montalbano, with its beautiful sea view, is located in Punta Secca and is about 30 minutes drive from Scicli.

Not far is also Marzamemi, an ancient fishing village with its Tonnara, while Siracusa, wonderful jewel case that preserves Greek antiquities and Baroque churches, is only 80 km and will enchant you with its charme!
