Description

An “open-air museum” this is the leitmotiv that accompanied the owner, architect and passionate about art, in the construction of his villa.
The villa Bay View embodies the charm of Sicily, with a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Castellammare, Zingaro Reserve, Scopello old tonnara, and Ustica. The owner himself says there was no better place to build it.
The beautiful infinity pool with modern design, the local materials wisely used, stone, wood, iron and ancient artifacts make this property a unique work of art in a breathtaking location, where to spend unforgettable moments.

Inside

The furniture is characterized by antique objects collected by the owner and revisited for a new use, such as the parts of an old Sicilian cart used as a bedhead framework in the master bedroom or the pots and the ancient sieve used as chandeliers.

Entering through the large French doors a beautiful open space welcomes you and offers a comfortable well-equipped kitchen, a dining area with table and chairs for 6 people followed by a modern living area. Everything is decorated with taste, originality and extreme attention to the details. On this floor can be found the main bedroom characterized by a large glass wall to enjoy the panoramic view of this beautiful location, and the main bathroom.
A suspended staircase, in the living area, leads to the loft where there is a second bedroom and a studio with a sofa bed, that can accommodate two people.
These two rooms are separate from the rest of the house through curtains. A second bathroom with outdoor shower is located next to the outside kitchen.

Outside

The outdoor spaces give the final touch to this magical property. The stone and the wood, in the structure, make the villa fits perfectly into the surrounding landscape made of uncontaminated nature, arid and wild like the hidden soul of the villa. The outdoor kitchen with fishing nets, pots and ancient handicraft objects is a beautiful place where to spend time cooking fresh fish and enjoy the very good local white wine.
The infinity pool looks like a natural water basin rising from the stone in a natural terrace which offers the spectacular bay view of Castellammare Gulf, the Zingaro Nature Reserve and the island of Ustica. The outdoor furnishings, in perfect harmony with the rest of the house, are part of the work of research of unique materials that inspired the owner in the completion of this work. A large and covered outside dining area affords dinner al fresco while enjoying the stunning view.
The panoramic balcony which can be reached via the outside stone staircase, offers a surprising roof garden view, as well.

The Area

In a panoramic position from where you can already enjoy the beautiful landscape, Bay View lies a few km far from the lovely little village of Scopello, Castellammare del Golfo (TP), close to the amazing “Lo Zingaro” Nature Reserve.
Developed around its 18th century “old baglio”, this pretty seaside resort affords very nice bars and restaurants and it certainly is one of the best sea places in Sicily.
In Scopello there is one of the access to Lo Zingaro reserve, a terrestrial paradise 7 km long, where to find delightful pebbly coves lapped by transparent turquoise waters as well as a variety of plants and nesting bird species; olive groves and dwarf palm trees. The reserve has another point of access at the other end of the 7 km stretch near San Vito Lo Capo, a pretty town known for its long, wide and sandy beach and for the Cous Cous, a typical fish-based dish originated by Arabs in Sicily.

The closest town to this property is Castellammare del Golfo, just 10 km away, which offers many bars and restaurants as well as nice shops and supermarkets. Castellammare (castle in the sea) takes his name from the stunning seafront castle overlooking a large gulf. We strongly suggest to have a walk along the harbour at night to enjoy the beautiful atmosphere of this place.
From Castellammare is easy to reach Palermo, Sicily capital city, where to breathe history in every corner and be amazed at the beauty of its numerous monuments.
Trapani with the famous Saltpans are just 45 minutes driving and from there you can take the hydrofoil to Egadi Islands, a paradise for diving and snorkelling lovers.

About 25 km far is Segesta archeological site and at about 1hour by car can be found the largest archeological park in Europe, Selinunte, with its 270 hectares.

Agrigento and the Valley of the Temples can be reached by car in about 2 hours.
